Career Day

My daughter came home today from school and told me that her career day went really well. She said that one of her best friends brought in her father, who is a Dallas criminal defense lawyer. She said that he talked for 45 minutes about all kinds of interesting things, which got her really interested in the subject. I decided to rent a couple of movies that she would like which centered around characters like these, so later that night we watched them. We ordered pizza and everyone sat around and talked about how interesting these people are.

I participated in this thing last year, so I didn’t feel it’d be right to do it again this year. My wife however wanted to go down to see it because she’s thinking about making a career change herself. She doesn’t really like being a nurse anymore and has always wanted to challenge herself to do something else. She started talking a little bit about Dallas criminal lawyers too, which made me think that she is thinking about going back and finishing up her law degree. I told her that I would support her in whatever she wanted to do, but she had to realize that it was going to be a tremendous amount of work to do this at her age.
